At KDH we’ve got a strong commitment to learning and professional development. Our team participates in regular workshop sessions, competency testing and clinical training supervision.
Keeping up to date with health issues and clinical developments is an important way for us to maintain your safety and quality of care.
We also think it’s important to support future health professionals to understand what it’s like to work in a rural health setting. That’s why we’re a training facility that hosts university students on placements in nursing, medicine, health information and physiotherapy. Work experience students from local secondary schools are also regular visitors.
In all of these activities we’re guided by our Best Practice Clinical Learning Environment framework.
Kyneton District Health provides clinical placements to students from a range of disciplines and a variety of education providers. The discipline rotations include:
- Social Work
- Health Information Management
All clinical placements are organised through Vic-place, which is a web-based system to assist clinical providers and education providers to allocate students to appropriate placements. For further information email email@example.com
KDH has two purpose built residences to accommodate tertiary health students and visiting health professionals.
Each house has six bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and communal areas. The fully equipped kitchens allow visitors to self-cater. The residences are located right next to the Kyneton Hospital with a walkway attaching the facilities.
