Kyneton Hospital has two operating theatres equipped for minor and intermediate level surgery. Most procedures are day visit or short stay. Our consultants are highly skilled surgeons and anaesthetists who are also attached to large teaching hospitals.
Our experienced surgical nursing team provide person centre care to our patients before, during and after their surgery. They follow the World Health Organisation Surgical Safety Checklist and implemented quality measures like our pre-admission checklist and post-op follow-up.
Our surgical services are detailed below and we encourage you to have a conversation with your GP about referral options. You can also contact our theatre team on 03 5422 9900.
Seeing a visiting specialist who performs local procedures might result in an earlier surgery date. You can also save on time and cost of travel. Getting appropriate care closer to home can generally aid in recovery.
Some procedures may require a visit to a larger hospital with more complex surgical facilities, however your specialist may still be able to conduct your pre and post operation consultation in Kyneton. Your surgeon will be able to advise on the most appropriate /convenient hospital for you.
The list of procedures available at KDH is not exhaustive and we encourage you to speak with your consultant about your options.
